I was reading the NY Times magazine this weekend and there was a big peice about evangelicals in Ivy-League universities. Well, they focused on this one student trying to promote evangelical beliefs who cited that he was praying when "god told me" to take on this project. In the same magazine, there was an article about Rick Santorum, devout Catholic and nutcase (IMO). Anyway, he was talking about himself, his faith, etc. Never once did he mention God talking to him. George Bush said God talks to him and told him to invade Iraq....
Does God talk to Catholics? I've heard of lots of Catholics get messages and having conversations with Mary, but God never seems to contact us...Am I correct in this observation?

Wed, June 28, 2006 - 1:17 PMAccording to their writings, Jesus spoke with St. Padre Pio and St. Faustina, but they didn't go around telling everybody about it. I suppose they would conceal more than they exposed though. Marriage is about intimacy after all, and Jesus is the spouse of the saints. -

Thu, June 29, 2006 - 9:01 AMI think Catholics experience God differently. It is an intimate, contemplative experience when God "talks" to us. For Bible Christians, I notice that they feel the need to "witness" and tell everyone that God has spoken to them. Two very different religious cultures, and one reason why they don't seem to get along. -

Wed, July 19, 2006 - 10:16 PMGod talks to the Pope, period. Isn't that what we were taught? That's when I saw my potential as a lapsed Catholic. I was 7 or 8, and I figured if God talked to Moses, he could talk to me. The Pope scares me.
PBS has a great series out right now on the Medicis. Checkk it out.
