I want my kid to be Jesuit-educated, but he is only in 2nd grade. Are there Jesuit schools for kids in elementary?

Mon, May 23, 2005 - 1:57 PMYes, but not many. You just have to look, as many Catholic elementary schools are either parish-run or run by other orders.

Re: Jesuit education
Tue, May 24, 2005 - 5:20 PMGood to know it's out there....I'm going to start investigating right away. I got some good leads on the "Catholic" tribe, too.
Adso, I understand your concern, but I don't want a "catholic" education for my son. I want a Jesuit education, which is one of the best kinds of educations you can get. those guys are pretty liberal, generally speaking, and smart as anything. -

Tue, May 24, 2005 - 5:26 PMYikes! I just tried to look up famous people educated by Jesuits, and all I could find was Stalin, Castro, and James Joyce. There has to be more out there....... -

Re: Jesuit education
Wed, May 25, 2005 - 12:39 PMActually, my son DOES act a bit like Stalin sometimes, especially when he was around two years old. He's getting better now, though. -

Re: Jesuit education
Fri, May 26, 2006 - 8:53 AMEllen, I had a Jesuit spiritual director for a few years and he remains my favorite priest. Literate, articulate, curious. I wish I'd had the education he received as a kid.
